Hi! Thanks for visiting.
My love for music follows the great history of story and song. From gospel choirs to major choral works, and from the roots of jazz to its newest iterations, I have crafted a deep vocal repertoire that grows with every performance. Living in Portland, Oregon's vibrant jazz scene, I have opportunity, community and inspiration to sing, sing, sing.
Based in Portland, Oregon, I perform at local sessions, public gigs, and private events. My musical journey began in the gospel choir of Ainsworth Church of Christ and the classic Marylhurst Concert Chorale. Since then, I’ve had the honor of performing three times at Carnegie Hall and once at Lincoln Center as an ongoing member of the Jonathan Griffith Singers.
On stage and in the studio, my work spans genres. My early big band work features on Pork Pie’s 2007 album Hat’s Off, while my second album, Late Night Dog Walk, captures a personal mix of pop, folk, and jazz gems (click the link to listen!). I also contributed to singer/songwriter Bill Deane’s project, Curious World, with The Elf Kings.
Off the stage, I live, jam, and travel with my best friend and husband, Chris Scherer—a brilliant, bebop-brained guitarist who keeps me swinging and laughing. When we aren't rehearsing, you can find us biking, hiking, or out in the garden with our dog at our heels. Life is a song!
